About Us

Peterborough United Foundation aims to provide sporting opportunities for females in and around the local area. This includes developing footballing talent within our Girls Elite & Development Centre’s, working with local clubs and teams, running girls only holiday courses and working with other partners/organisations to promote female sport for all, in a fun and safe environment.

Our Elite & Development Centre is open to anyone from the age of 7-16. This provides weekly training sessions, allowing players to continue to play and train for their grassroots club. We also have an u19 scholarship team who train daily at the idverde Training ground and compete in the EFL Central Women's Division. This is a natural pathway into one of our two Women’s teams; our first team who currently play in the FA Women’s National League, and our Reserve team, who play in the East Midlands Women’s Regional League.

Peterborough United are committed to providing and increasing opportunities for females in the local area.

Each activity is another step on the player pathway and allows female players (aged 4+) of all abilities to get involved in the game and fulfill their potential at whatever level is appropriate for them.

Peterborough United Ladies formed in 2015/16 season and during their first season were crowned League Cup Champions as well as gaining promotion into the East Midlands Division One South. The 2016/17 season saw the introduction of Peterborough United Ladies Reserves who currently compete in the Northamptonshire Women & Girl’s Football League. The 2017/18 season proved to be another successful one as the Ladies first team won promotion into the East Midlands Premier Division after winning Division One South. They narrowly missed out on consecutive promotions as they were pipped to the title by Leicester Development in 2018/19, however they still managed to bring home some silverware by beating Kettering Town in a penalty shootout to win the County Cup.

2019/2020 unfortunately resulted in the FA null in voiding the season following the outbreak of COVID -19, but the first team were dominating the East Midlands Premier Division and were sitting top with plenty of points clear. 2020/21 saw another distributed season due to the outbreak, however, the first team managed to remain top of the table and after successful application gained promotion to the FA Women’s National League for the first time in history since their formation.

Not only did the first team gain promotion, the reserves move up into the East Midlands Division 1 South league after a successful and campaign and application. In 2021 Peterborough United Football Club took over the Women’s first and reserve team from the Foundation department, who they had previously operated under since their formation in 2015.

The Ladies have also enjoyed showcased friendlies at the Weston Homes Stadium against West Ham United Ladies and Crystal Palace Ladies.
