Ticket Purchase Policy

Ticket

Our goal at Peterborough United is to make your purchasing experience easy, efficient and equitable. The following purchase policies are designed to ensure your satisfaction and understanding of the purchase process on theposhtickets.com.

If you have any questions about the information below, please contact us. This Purchase Policy is subject to, and incorporates by this reference, the Terms of Use. Each ticket that you purchase is a revocable licence to attend a particular match and is subject to these terms. This policy does not affect your statutory rights.

  1. Definitions

In this Purchase Policy, the following words and phrases shall have the following meanings (unless stated otherwise):

“Club” means Peterborough United Football Club Limited (company registration number 02534570), whose registered office is at Weston Homes Stadium, London Road, Peterborough, PE2 8AL.

“Ground” means the Weston Homes Stadium (or such other name as the stadium may be known by from time to time), London Road, Peterborough, PE2 8AL.

“Match” means any competitive or friendly football match played by the Club’s first team at the Ground or at any away venue for which the Club sells tickets.

“Season” means the football season (usually running from August to May inclusive) for which a Season Ticket is issued.

“Season Ticket” means a ticket (whether physical, digital or smartcard-based) entitling the named holder to attend certain competitive home matches of the Club during the Season, subject to these terms and conditions.

“Ticket” means any match day ticket, e-ticket, digital ticket, Season Ticket or other form of admission entitlement issued by or on behalf of the Club.

“Ticket Holder” means any person who is in possession of a valid Ticket issued by or on behalf of the Club.

“Ground Regulations” means the ground regulations issued by the Club from time to time, which are displayed at the Ground and available on the Club’s website at www.theposh.com.

“Football Authority” means each of FIFA, UEFA, The Football Association, The Premier League, The English Football League (EFL) and any other relevant governing body of association football.

  2. Payment Methods

The Club accepts several methods of payment to accommodate your needs. We accept Visa Credit, Visa Debit, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Additional contactless and digital wallet payment methods may be accepted from time to time and will be confirmed at the point of sale. The Ground is a cashless stadium.

  3. Availability

There are three ways to purchase Tickets for matches at the Ground:

    1. Online via www.theposhtickets.com.
    2. At the Box Office in person during published opening hours (see www.theposh.com for current Box Office hours).
    3. By telephone on the Club’s published Box Office number (telephone booking fees apply).

  4. Order Confirmation

Whilst the Club takes all reasonable steps to ensure the ticketing system operates correctly, if you do not receive a confirmation number (in the form of a confirmation page or email) after submitting payment information, or if you experience an error message or service interruption after submitting payment information, it is your responsibility to confirm with the Club whether or not your order has been placed. Only you may be aware of any problems that may occur during the purchase process. The Club will not be responsible for losses (monetary or otherwise) if you assume that an order was not placed because you failed to receive confirmation.

  5. Booking Fees and Order Processing Fees

Tickets purchased on theposhtickets.com carry no booking fees unless otherwise stated at the point of sale. Tickets purchased over the telephone are subject to a non-refundable booking fee per ticket, the amount of which will be confirmed at the time of purchase. Where applicable, delivery charges will also be displayed and confirmed before you complete your order. All compulsory fees and charges are disclosed at the point at which the ticket price is first displayed, in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024.

  6. Number of Tickets Per Customer (“Ticket Limits”)

When purchasing Tickets on theposhtickets.com, you may be limited to a specified number of Tickets for each Match (also known as a “ticket limit”). This ticket limit is posted during the purchase process and is verified with every transaction. This policy is in effect to discourage unfair ticket buying practices. The use of automated software (“bots”) to purchase Tickets in excess of the published ticket limit is a criminal offence under the Digital Economy Act 2017.

  7. Cancelled, Postponed and Abandoned Matches

Occasionally, matches are cancelled, postponed or abandoned. Should this occur, please check the Club’s website at www.theposh.com for updated information or email tickets@theposh.com. The Club will endeavour to contact Ticket Holders who have purchased tickets for any match that is cancelled or postponed, but the onus remains on the purchaser to check that a match is taking place on the scheduled date and time.

    1. If a match is cancelled and will not be rearranged, Ticket Holders will be entitled to a full refund of the face value of the Ticket (including any booking fees and delivery charges paid).
    2. If a match is postponed or rescheduled, Tickets will usually be valid for the rearranged date. Please check before attending the rescheduled match. If you are unable to attend the rearranged date, you may request a refund by contacting the Ticket Office within 14 days of the announcement of the new date.
    3. In the event a match is abandoned after spectators have been admitted to the Ground but before kick-off, admission will be valid for the rearranged match.
    4. Where a home match is abandoned after kick-off, a fair and reasonable decision will be made on refunds or admission prices based on the individual circumstances, taking into account the rules of the relevant Football Authority pertaining to abandoned matches.

  8. Refunds and Exchanges

Before purchasing Tickets, carefully review your match and seat selection.

    1. The Club will refund Tickets at the face value paid (or, if a discounted Ticket, then the discounted price paid) if the refund has been requested no later than 7 days prior to kick-off.
    2. For away matches where physical Tickets are issued, the Ticket(s) must be returned to the Ticket Office by the time Tickets go off sale.
    3. Where the Club cancels or fails to provide the match for which the Ticket was purchased, a full refund of all amounts paid (including any booking fees and delivery charges) will be provided. This is in addition to any rights you may have under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
    4. For voluntary refund requests (where the match is going ahead as scheduled but the Ticket Holder chooses not to attend), any refund of delivery and/or booking fees will be at the sole discretion of the Club’s management.
    5. The Club will not be liable for travel or any other expenses that you or anyone else incurs in connection with a cancelled or postponed match.
    6. If a refund is issued, it will be issued using the same method of payment that was used to purchase the Ticket(s). If a credit/debit card or Apple Pay/Google Pay was used to make the purchase, then only that original payment method will receive the credit for the refund.

Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

  9. Billing Information Verification

Orders are processed only after a billing address, and other billing information, has been verified. Occasionally, we receive incorrect billing or credit card account information for a ticket order that can delay processing and delivery. In these cases, the Club will attempt to contact you using the information provided at the time of purchase.

  10. Delivery Options

We recommend and encourage you to use our e-ticket/digital ticket delivery option where available for the most efficient way of receiving your Ticket. For some matches we may also offer Royal Mail 1st Class delivery for UK Mainland orders.

Where e-ticket is the only delivery option for a match and a Ticket Holder is unable to use a digital ticket (for example, because they do not have access to a smartphone), the Club will, upon request, arrange for a physical ticket to be printed and made available for collection at the Box Office or posted to the Ticket Holder. A small administration fee may apply to cover printing and postage costs and will be confirmed at the time of request.

  11. Pricing and Other Errors

If the amount you pay for a Ticket is incorrect – regardless of whether because of an error in a price posted on this website or otherwise communicated to you, or you are able to order a Ticket before its scheduled on-sale or presale date, or you are able to order a Ticket that was not supposed to have been released for sale – then the Club will have the right to cancel that Ticket (or the order for that Ticket) and refund to you the amount that you paid. This will apply regardless of whether because of human error or a transactional malfunction of this website or other Club-operated system.

  12. Limitation of Liability

Attending a live football match carries inherent risks. Footballs and other objects may enter the spectator areas during a match, potentially resulting in injury. Ticket Holders are advised to remain alert at all times before, during and after a match. If struck, immediately ask a steward for directions to a medical station.

The Club excludes, to the maximum extent permitted by law, any liability for loss, injury or damage to persons or property in or around the Ground. For the avoidance of doubt, nothing in these terms and conditions shall exclude or limit the Club’s liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability which cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

You bear all risks of inclement weather. Match date and time are subject to change. The Club accepts no responsibility whatsoever if the seat to which this Ticket refers is affected by adverse weather conditions.

  13. Licence; Ejection and Cancellation; No Redemption Value

A Ticket is a revocable licence to attend the relevant Match. A Ticket is not redeemable for cash.

    1. The Club reserves the right, without refund of any amount paid, to refuse admission to, or eject, any person whose conduct management deems disorderly, who uses vulgar or abusive language, or who fails to comply with the Ground Regulations. Breach of these terms and conditions or the Ground Regulations will terminate your licence to attend the Match without refund.
    2. Admission may be refused upon refunding the Ticket’s face value.
    3. The Club reserves the right, without refund of any amount, to suspend or cancel Season Tickets or individual match Tickets to those who have been made subject to a Football Banning Order under sections 14A or 14B of the Football Spectators Act 1989 by any Magistrates’ Court or Crown Court in the United Kingdom. The offence does not have to relate to Peterborough United fixtures.
    4. The Club also reserves the right to suspend or cancel Season Tickets or individual match Tickets to those who have been issued a Club Ban. A Club Ban will have been issued following a breach of the Ground Regulations or supported by evidence presented by Cambridgeshire Constabulary.
    5. Where a Ticket is cancelled or a Club Ban is imposed, the Club will follow its published sanctions process. Details are available from the Club upon request.

  14. Anti-Discrimination and Equality

The Club is committed to equality and diversity and requires all Ticket Holders to share these principles. By purchasing a Ticket, you agree to refrain from engaging in any conduct which is:

    1. Racist, including any racially abusive, insulting or threatening language, gestures or behaviour.
    2. Homophobic, biphobic or transphobic.
    3. Sexist or misogynistic.
    4. Discriminatory in relation to disability, age, religion or belief, pregnancy, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, or any other characteristic protected by the Equality Act 2010.

Any discriminatory behaviour will be treated as a breach of these terms and conditions and may result in immediate ejection from the Ground, the imposition of a Club Ban, referral to Cambridgeshire Constabulary, and notification to the EFL, other football clubs and/or the UK Football Policing Unit.

  15. Recording, Transmission and Exhibition

You agree not to record or transmit, or aid in recording or transmitting, any description, account, picture, or reproduction of any Match. You agree that the Match for which you purchase Tickets is a public event, that your appearance and actions inside and outside the Ground are public in nature, and that you have no expectation of privacy with regard to your actions or conduct at the Match.

You grant permission to the Club to utilise your name, image, likeness, acts, poses, plays, appearance, movements, and statements in any live or recorded audio, video, or photographic display or other transmission, exhibition, publication or reproduction made of, or at, the Match (regardless of whether before, during or after the match) for any purpose, in any manner, in any medium or context now known or hereafter developed, without further authorisation from, or compensation to, you or anyone acting on your behalf. The Club’s use of your image and personal data in this context is carried out in accordance with the Club’s Privacy Policy (see Section 21 below).

  16. Prohibited Items

In conformance with the Ground Regulations and applicable law, the following items may not be brought into the Ground:

    1. Alcoholic beverages.
    2. Illegal drugs and controlled substances.
    3. Cameras and professional recording devices (small personal devices such as mobile phones are permitted for personal, non-commercial use).
    4. Laser pointers.
    5. Fireworks, flares and smoke devices.
    6. Artificial noisemakers, air horns and similar items.
    7. Weapons or any item that could be used as a weapon.
    8. Bundles and containers of any kind that are not transparent or that exceed any size restrictions notified by the Club.

The Club reserves the right to update this list from time to time. The current list of prohibited items is available in the Ground Regulations on the Club’s website.

  17. You Are Subject to Search

You and your belongings may be searched on entry to the Ground. You consent to such searches and waive any related claims that may arise. If you elect not to consent to such searches, you may be denied entry to the Match without refund or other compensation.

  18. Unlawful Re-Sale of Tickets; Commercial Purposes

The unauthorised sale or disposal of a Ticket is a criminal offence under Section 166 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994, as amended by the Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006. Unlawful resale (or attempted resale), counterfeiting or copying of Tickets is grounds for seizure and cancellation without compensation.

    1. The Club reserves the right to restrict or deny ticket purchasing privileges to anyone that the Club determines to be, or has been, in violation of this policy.
    2. The Club will inform the police if it becomes aware, or has reasonable suspicion, that any Ticket has been sold or offered for sale illegally and will support the prosecution of those breaking this law.
    3. If you are convicted of a ticket touting offence, or the Club reasonably suspects you have committed such an offence, the Club may notify the EFL, the Premier League and, if necessary, other football clubs, who may in turn notify other football clubs, event holders and/or the UK Football Policing Unit and/or the relevant law enforcement authorities. The information shared may include your personal data, including your name, contact details, information about the offence and about ticket purchases (including payment details).
    4. The use of automated software (“bots”) to purchase Tickets in excess of the published ticket limit is a criminal offence under the Breaching of Limits on Ticket Sales Regulations 2018, made under the Digital Economy Act 2017.

Because the Club does not guarantee the authenticity of Tickets purchased from any non-authorised third-party reseller (such as brokers or individuals), the Club recommends that you purchase Tickets directly through the Club, authorised partners or from the Box Office to ensure ticket authenticity.

Tickets may not be used for advertising, promotions, contests or sweepstakes, unless formal written authorisation is given by the Club, provided that even if such consent is obtained, any use of the Club’s trademarks and other intellectual property is subject to the Club’s separate consent.

  19. Stadium Reconfiguration

The Club reserves the right, at its absolute discretion, to reconfigure, close, repurpose or otherwise alter any stand, seating area or section of the Ground at any time and for any reason, including (without limitation) for operational, safety, commercial or strategic purposes. In such circumstances:

    1. Affected Season Ticket holders will be offered the opportunity to relocate to an alternative seat in another area of the Ground of equivalent or greater value, as determined by the Club.
    2. No refund, compensation or alternative remedy shall be payable or offered where the alternative seat allocated is, in the Club’s reasonable opinion, of equivalent or greater value to the original seat.
    3. Where the only available alternative seat is of lesser value than the original seat, the Club shall, at its discretion, either:
      1. refund the difference in value; or
      2. apply the difference as credit to the Season Ticket holder’s ticketing account.
    4. The Club shall use reasonable endeavours to notify affected Season Ticket holders at least 14 days in advance of any reconfiguration, closure or repurposing where reasonably practicable, but shall not be liable for any failure or delay in providing such notice.
    5. For the avoidance of doubt, no Season Ticket holder shall have any entitlement to remain in, or return to, any stand, seating area or section of the Ground that has been reconfigured, closed or repurposed, regardless of any prior history of occupation.

  20. Accessibility

The Club is committed to providing an accessible and inclusive matchday experience for all supporters, in accordance with the Equality Act 2010 and the EFL’s Accessible Stadia guidance.

    1. Disabled supporters requiring wheelchair spaces, accessible seating, ambulant seating or any other reasonable adjustment should contact the Ticket Office, who will assist with booking the most appropriate Ticket.
    2. Where a disabled supporter requires a personal assistant or carer to attend the Match with them, a complimentary personal assistant Ticket will be provided upon evidence of eligibility (for example, receipt of Personal Independence Payment, Disability Living Allowance or Attendance Allowance, or equivalent).
    3. Supporters who are unable to use digital or e-tickets due to a disability or other accessibility need should contact the Ticket Office to arrange an alternative method of ticket delivery at no additional charge.
    4. For further information or to discuss your accessibility needs, please contact the Club’s Ticket Office by email at tickets@theposh.com or by telephone.

  21. Data Protection and Privacy

The Club is a data controller under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. When you purchase a Ticket, the Club collects and processes personal data including (but not limited to) your name, postal address, email address and payment details.

    1. Your personal data will be used for the purposes of processing and administering your Ticket purchase, communicating with you about the Match(es) for which you have purchased Tickets, ensuring safety and security at the Ground, and complying with the Club’s legal and regulatory obligations.
    2. The Club may share your personal data with the police, Cambridgeshire Constabulary, the EFL, the Premier League, other football clubs and/or the UK Football Policing Unit for the purposes of preventing and detecting crime, preventing and detecting fraud, ensuring public safety at football matches, and complying with Football Banning Orders.
    3. Where you have provided your consent, the Club may also use your personal data for marketing purposes, including sending you information about forthcoming matches, Club news and commercial offers. You may withdraw your consent to marketing communications at any time.
    4. You have the right to request access to, rectification of, or erasure of your personal data, and to object to or restrict the processing of your personal data, in accordance with UK GDPR. To exercise any of these rights, please contact the Club at tickets@theposh.com.
    5. The Club’s full Privacy Policy, which provides comprehensive details about how your personal data is collected, used, stored and shared, is available on the Club’s website at www.theposh.com.

  22. Complaints and Dispute Resolution

If you have a complaint regarding your ticket purchase or matchday experience, the Club encourages you to resolve the matter directly in the first instance:

    1. Please contact the Ticket Office by email at tickets@theposh.com or by telephone during published opening hours.
    2. The Club will acknowledge your complaint within 5 working days and aim to provide a full response within 14 working days.
    3. If you are not satisfied with the Club’s response, you may escalate your complaint to the Independent Football Ombudsman (IFO), which is the alternative dispute resolution body for football clubs in England and Wales. The IFO can be contacted at: The Independent Football Ombudsman, Suite 49, 33 Great George Street, Leeds, LS1 3AJ, or via their website.

  23. Ground Regulations

The Ticket(s) is/are issued subject to the rules and regulations of FIFA, UEFA, The Football Association, The Premier League and The English Football League (EFL) in respect of the relevant competition and the Club’s Ground Regulations. The Ground Regulations are displayed at the Ground and are available on the Club’s website at www.theposh.com.

The acceptance of a Ticket implies full recognition of these conditions, the Ground Regulations and all applicable rules and regulations of the relevant Football Authority by the Ticket Holder.

  24. Governing Law

These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms and conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

  25. Changes to These Terms

The Club reserves the right to update or amend these terms and conditions from time to time (for example, to reflect changes in relevant laws and regulatory requirements, or for operational reasons) and shall publish such changes on its website. Where changes materially affect your rights as a consumer, the Club will use reasonable endeavours to notify affected Ticket Holders directly.
