Harry Leonard in action against Doncaster Rovers

Posh were beaten 3-1 on the final day as Billy Sharp signed off at Doncaster Rovers with a hat-trick.

Billy Sharp concluded his latest spell at Doncaster Rovers in fairy-tale fashion with a second half hat-trick as Peterborough United suffered a final day defeat at the Weston Homes Stadium.

Harry Leonard finished on 17 goals for the season after a second half strike, but Posh were unable to capitalise on that goal and the visitors took all three points.

It was a game that was competitive in the first 45 minutes, but Posh looked devoid of energy in the second half and Grant McCann's men took advantage.

Goalkeeper Alex Bass made a string of fine saves, keeping out Brandon Hanlan, Hakeeb Adelakun and Sharp, who also saw a second half goal ruled out for offside.

Leonard saw a strike from distance kept out by Lo-Tutala while Ben Woods also forced the keeper into a first half save with Brandon Khela's rebound deflected wide of the target.

Bass kept out Broadbent on the stroke of half-time as he raced clean through on goal while five minutes into the second half, Kyrell Lisbie headed a corner kick from Matt Garbett wide.

The deadlock was broken on 53 minutes as the visitors took advantage of a wayward pass out of defence from Mendonca, the ball worked to SHARP who made no mistake.

Lisbie was denied by Lo-Tutala twice in a minute while Leonard fired wide as Posh responded well to the set-back but on 72 minutes, it was 2-0 as SHARP again beat Bass.

LEONARD drove Posh back into the contest on 75 minutes but three minutes later, SHARP completed his hat-trick after more poor defending.
