Jess Rousseau scored four as the Posh Women were crowned the FAWNL Division One Midlands Champions after another excellent day at PIMS Park.

The Peterborough United Women can call themselves 'invincible' after completing the FAWNL Division One Midlands season unbeaten with the final day seeing Jake Poole's side crowned deserved Champions.

Poole and his team collected their medals at the conclusion of a special day as Jess Rousseau bagged four goals in a convincing 7-0 win over Stourbridge in front of over 400 fans basking in the April sunshine.

Goalkeeper Nieve Corry kept another clean sheet - her 15th of the campaign and was untroubled throughout as Posh finished the season in fine style.

It was all one-way traffic from the first whistle with Kayleigh Hines, playing her last game before retiring from the game, firing wide. Niamh Reynolds and Anna Pitt went close while the goalkeeper for Stourbridge produced a superb stop to keep out Rousseau.

However, ROUSSEAU did find the breakthrough on 22 minutes as a quickly-taken throw-in from Evie Driscoll-King provided Poppie Brown with a chance to cross and her low centre was tapped home from close-range.

On 26 minutes, ROUSSEAU doubled the lead as she tapped home after more good work in the build-up. On 28 minutes, ROUSSEAU completed a six-minute hat-trick, firing past the goalkeeper to give Posh a 3-0 lead. On 38 minutes, it was 4-0 as Niamh CONNOR continued her fine run of scoring with a composed finish.

It was 5-0 just before the hour mark as ROUSSEAU grabbed her fourth, this time creating the space and lashing an excellent effort into the back of the net. Hines received a fine ovation as she was substituted in her final game with Emily Sharpe and Meg Lawlor, also playing their last game of their careers among those introduced.

Nine minutes from time, substitute Tara KIRK got her name on the scoresheet as she headed home a right-wing cross. The scoring was complete when Evie DRISCOLL-KING fired home from distance.

Rousseau hit the bar and there were further opportunities with Keir Perkins denied by a fine stop at the near post.

Following the final whistle, the players were able to get their medals and lift the trophy in front of their friends, family and supporters.
