The Posh Women Under 18s take on Millwall Women Under 18s in the final of the JPL Warriors Cup on Saturday night at the home of Worcester City Women (6pm).

The Peterborough United Women Under 18s have a final to look forward too this weekend as they take on their counterparts from Millwall with a chance of silverware to cap off an excellent campaign.

There have been a host of players who have progressed through to the first team in the Posh Women in recent seasons including Rebecca Mears and Edyn Osker and a number of the Under 18s have trained and featured for the first team throughout the successful FAWNL Division One campaign for Jake Poole's team.

Eve Cragg, who made an appearance in the Women's FA Cup, said: “It’s my 5th year in this competition, so it means a lot to make it to the final. The girls fully deserve to be here, we’ve worked hard this year and it shows by our position in the final. It would mean everything for me to win the cup with these girls."

Captain Carys Bacon added: “It’s been a year of ups and downs for us, but we have worked hard and stuck together and been rewarded by reaching the final, we will put everything into winning. It’s been so rewarding captaining these girls, I wouldn’t want it to be any other team.”

Manager Sam Bell spoke of his pride at leading the team:  “I’m so proud of the girls for the way they finished the season and made it through to the final. We have worked so hard this year to turn a new group of girls into resilient, talented team. They have stuck together against everything that has been thrown at them and shown me that they deserve to be in these kind of games, I know they’ll put their all into the final.”

James Helps (assistant coach) added: "It’s an occasion we’re all really looking forward to as a squad after a long and demanding season. A huge amount of work has gone into reaching this point, not just from the players, but from the staff and parents who have supported the group every step of the way. Saturday’s final is a reward for that effort and commitment, and one the players have fully earned through their attitude and performances across the season."

We will provide updates of the final on the Posh Women X page, which can be found here

Admission into the game is free of charge with the final taking place at the Sixways Stadium.
