A number of the playing squad were present for drop-in training sessions at the Bespoke Builds Training Ground this week.
Ahead of the return to pre-season training at the beginning of July, a number of Peterborough United players were put through their paces at the Bespoke Builds Training Ground this week.
A selection of the squad underwent testing with Head of Sports Science Lewis Keeble before some additional work on the pitches with manager Luke Williams and assistant Ryan Harley.
"We have had some of the players in for three days this week so we can steer them in the right direction for when we start back for pre-season in the first week of July.
"It is a small camp, it gives us an opportunity to do a few tests, take a few measurements and spend some time on the grass, as well as taking the time to have one to one sessions with the players so we can maximise the pre-season.
"From what I can see, the game is becoming physically more intense, there is a lot more high speed running and sprinting, the fixtures come close together in the EFL and to be able to perform consistently in that way, we need to be in good condition.
"The summer lay-off is really important, the players do build up fatigue and pressure and they need to recover, mentally and physically they need to rest, they need to socialise because they don't get the opportunity to do that as much as they would like in the season, but this is also now about helping them to maximise the pre-season because that will give them a foundation to go into the campaign.
Hopefully it will stand them in good stead, that is the theory behind it and then we will go into the first week of pre-season in a good place. The players have worked hard and I think the fact they are able to do some of the work with their team-mates in the summer will be beneficial," Williams said.
