Just shy of a 1,000 supporters were in attendance at the Weston Homes Stadium for the open training session on Tuesday morning.
The Peterborough United players were put through their paces in front of just under 1,000 supporters at the Weston Homes Stadium on Tuesday morning as manager Darren Ferguson hosted an open training session ahead of the first Sky Bet League One game of the season at Cardiff City on Saturday afternoon (12.30pm).
Following the session, which also featured the Mick George Skip Challenge, the squad met fans, signed autographs and posed for pictures for nearly 90 minutes.
Posh vice-captain Carl Johnston said: "It was great to see so many fans in attendance and a good opportunity for us as players to thank them all for their support during pre-season.
"It was nice to see so many young fans as well and we hope that everyone in attendance had a good day."
The idea for the open training session and subsequent signing session came from the Posh boss who said afterwards: "I am glad that everyone who came enjoyed themselves. It is important for us to host events like this, it is a good opportunity for fans to see us train, which is obviously something that doesn't normally happen. It was a great turnout."
The open training session is another example of the club's commitment to Fan Engagement and follows hot on the heels of the club receiving the Gold Family Excellence award.
