Leyton Orient v Posh

A look ahead to Tuesday night's clash in the capital against Leyton Orient in Sky Bet League One action (7.45pm).

Peterborough United make the trip to the capital on Tuesday evening to face Leyton Orient in a re-arranged Sky bet League One fixture (7.45pm) with Darren Ferguson's men looking to take the positives from Saturday's first home league win of the campaign against Bristol Rovers.

There were plenty of positives too, particularly in the first half as Posh went into the interval in a commanding 2-0 position. Malik Mothersille added a third before the Pirates staged a grandstand finish.

This fixture with the O's was originally due to be played at the beginning of September, but was postponed due to international call-ups. Richie Wellen's men have won their last couple of games including an eye-catching 4-1 win at Stockport County last time out.

TEAM NEWS

Posh are without the services of attacking midfielder Chris Conn-Clarke, who is due to have an operation later this week on a broken collar-bone. He is expected to miss at least six weeks of action.

Ricky-Jade Jones came off with an ankle injury during the second half against Rovers, but has not yet been ruled out. He is a doubt though. Rio Adebisi and Mahamadou Susoho are both out, but Ryan De Havilland will get minutes for the Under 21s in their cup clash at Peterborough Sports on Tuesday evening.

Striker Bradley Ihionvien has a calf injury and will miss out, but he could return for Saturday's ALL-TICKET trip to Birmingham City.

Following their thumping of Stockport on the weekend, Leyton Orient could name an unchanged starting XI, with Daniel Happe and Omar Beckles operating as a centre-back duo.

Daniel Agyei managed two contributions at Edgeley Park and should continue on the left flank, although the place of youngster Oliver O'Neill on the right-hand side is less secure.

Right-back Dominic Ball will be pushing for a start after providing an assist off the bench last time out, whilst Jordan Graham could also be promoted to the side as a great deliverer of the ball.

Ethan Galbraith

Galbraith, a domineering centre-midfielder, came through the ranks at Linfield in Northern Ireland before joining the academy at Manchester United has become the third player to join the O's following promotion to Sky Bet League One, following Max Sanders and Daniel Agyei through the door.

Following his move to the Red Devils, Galbraith signed his first professional deal at the thirteen-time Premier League winners in May 2018. He made his debut for the club in November of 2019, coming off the substitute bench in a Europa League tie versus Astana of Kazakhstan.

Galbraith spent time on loan with Doncaster Rovers in the 2021/22 season, linking up with O's boss Richie Wellens for the first time. He made 33 appearances for Donny, scoring a thirty-yard strike versus Cambridge United.

The Northern Irishman played a key role for Salford City during the 2022/23, playing 38 times in all competitions, scoring four goals as Salford finished in seventh place in Sky Bet League Two.

Galbraith is already a twice-capped senior international, making two appearances for Northern Ireland versus Luxembourg and Romania.

Ethan had a wonderful first season in East London, scoring five times in 39 league appearances, whilst also winning the Leyton Orient Supporters Club Starman award, along with Manager's and Player's Player of the Season.

MANAGER QUOTES

"There were lots of positives to take from the game on Saturday, particularly in that first half when we were dominant. We have been good away from home so far this season, so we have options in terms of the formation and personnel. Obviously we have a few issues at the top end of the pitch in terms of injuries, but we will go there and try and give a good account of ourselves, and most importantly, hopefully come away with the three points," Darren Ferguson said.
