Posh head to the capital on Saturday to face Leyton Orient in Sky Bet League One action (3pm).
Peterborough United return to Sky Bet League One action on Saturday with a trip to the BetWright Stadium to face Leyton Orient in Sky Bet League One action (3pm).
Luke Williams' side were without a fixture last weekend due to the postponement of the home clash with Port Vale at the Weston Homes Stadium. Since then, the O's have played twice, losing 2-1 at Bradford City and beating Stevenage away from home by the same scoreline.
Posh were 1-0 winners over Orient at the Weston Homes Stadium on Boxing Day thanks to a goal from Declan Frith, four minutes into stoppage time (pictured below).
TEAM NEWS
Posh welcome back left-backs Harley Mills and Jacob Mendy with both set to be included in the squad after muscular injuries. Tom Lees is making good progress from a calf injury while Ben Woods is another nearing a return. Sam Hughes has had a minor setback in his recovery, while Rio Adebisi is a long-term injury absentee.
Midfielder Donay O'Brien-Brady has been ruled out with an ankle injury while Harry Leonard will be back running next week after a hernia operation. Matt Garbett has had injections to hopefully resolve a heel issue, but has been ruled out of the trip to Orient and the clash with Rotherham United on Tuesday night.
O's skipper Will Forrester was withdrawn at half-time in the win over Stevenage while the experienced Sean Clare was also substituted early, although that was perhaps because he was on a caution.
ONE TO WATCH
Dom Ballard
Ballard penned a three-year contract in E10 and has the option of a fourth year. The forward spent the second half of the 2024/25 season at Cambridge United, scoring twice for the U's and has also had spells on loan at Reading, scoring three goals in ten appearances, and at Blackpool.
Ballard (pictured below) had a prolific goal record in the Southampton U18s, Under 21s and Under 23s sides, scoring 60 times in a combined 72 matches since 2020. He has also represented England 20 times at youth level, scoring nine times. He made his Orient debut against Posh and scored on his first league fixture at Port Vale. He is the club's top scorer this season.
MANAGER QUOTES
"Leyton Orient have a good manager, he has been there a while and they have been disrupted a lot this season because of injuries, I am sure they would be higher up the table if they had everyone available for selection. We have had a little rest and recovery following last week's postponement, those that have needed work have undertaken it, and those that needed rest have been given it," Williams said.
STAT PACK
- In the Football League, Leyton Orient have lost seven of their 18 home games against Posh (W7 D4), with six of those coming via a 2-1 scoreline.
