Brandon Khela

Midfielder Brandon Khela took the positives from the first pre-season victory of the campaign as Luke Williams' side overcame opposition from Gibraltar.

Khela, who was in the second half team, believes at this stage of pre-season it is mostly about getting minutes into legs, but was pleased the team were able to create plenty of opportunities in front of goal.

"It was good for everyone to get a run out, first one is out of the way and now it is about building on that. We got the ball moving in the second half, scored a couple of goals and in truth, we could have scored some more.

"The first game is all about getting that rust out of your legs. Pre-season is about getting fit and then the match sharpness follows with the more games that you play.

"We have two games while we are here, we have got the first one out of the way and now we look forward to the game on Friday night. There are positives to take from this game and things to work on, but that was always going to be the case," Khela said.

Bolu Shofowoke and Chris Conn-Clarke were on target for Posh and manager Luke Williams added that it was a very worthwhile exercise.

"The first XI defended well, we didn't create too many chances, but we were fairly solid and in the second half, we played with a more aggressive formation and created a lot of chances as a result.

"We have a few of the younger players from the Academy with us this week and it can be hard for them, but they have done really well and it is another great example of how good our Academy is in terms of producing players," Williams said.
