Posh host Rotherham United at the ABAX Stadium on Saturday.

Peterborough United look to make it three wins from three in Sky Bet League One action as they host Rotherham United at the ABAX Stadium on Saturday (3pm) with the Millers arriving on the back of an emphatic 5-0 victory over Southend United last weekend.

Containing six former Posh players in their squad, there will be a familiar look to the Rotherham travelling party, but not all are expected to start at the ABAX. Joe Newell was one of the scorers in that 5-0 win last week – arguably scoring the goal of the game with a fine right-foot curler into the top corner.

Grant McCann’s men were 4-1 winners at Bristol Rovers last time out with Jack Marriott netting his first Football League hat-trick. You can see an interview with Jack on the sports section of Anglia News on Friday night and there will be a piece in Sunday’s Football League paper.

TEAM NEWS

Posh are still without the services of suspended striker Ricky Miller while midfield man Callum Chettle is sidelined with a muscle strain. Jermaine Anderson is around three weeks away from being available for first team selection.

Jerry Yates is expected to miss Saturdays game for Rotherham after picking up a foot injury in the midweek Checkatrade Trophy clash with Manchester City. New signing Shaun Cummings could be given his first league start while Alex Bray impressed in a cameo performance from the substitutes bench.

MCCANN QUOTES

“I said to the players in pre-season that I want to be focussing 95% on what we do rather than worrying about the opposition. We will obviously do our research but I know that I have full confidence in my players. I know there are six former Posh players in their squad, but I am not too concerned by that – they all left the club for one reason or another.

“The fans played a massive part on the opening day and really got behind the players, I am hoping for the same on Saturday. It should be a good game of football with both sides going for the three points,” McCann said.

IN THE MIDDLE

Ross Joyce will be the match official for Saturday’s game. He has shown seven yellow cards in three fixtures so far this season.
