Posh have completed the loan signing of Gillingham midfielder Jack Payne.
Peterborough United have secured the signing of Gillingham midfielder Jack Payne in a loan deal until the end of the season.The 21-year-old, who has made over 100 appearances in all competitions for the Gills, has helped Martin Allen’s men into the promotion places in npower League Two and will meet his new team mates on Monday.
Payne, who came through the youth ranks at Priestfield, is highly-rated and has been coveted by a number of clubs.
'Jack is someone that we tried to bring in during the summer. He is a midfielder that is very comfortable on the ball, he adds to the squad and with 13 weeks or so left in the campaign and the window closing, I need as many bodies in the building as possible. I am pleased to have him on board,’ Darren Ferguson said.
