Posh welcome Stevenage to the Weston Homes Stadium in Sky Bet League One action on Tuesday evening (7.45pm).

Peterborough United will look to make it five wins from five in all competitions when they welcome Stevenage to the Weston Homes Stadium in Sky Bet League One action on Tuesday evening (7.45pm).

Luke Williams' side can move out of the relegation zone with a victory over Alex Revell's men, who have enjoyed an excellent start to the campaign, particularly defensively with one of the best records in the league.

TEAM NEWS

Posh welcome back David Okagbue and Matt Garbett to the squad after they missed the win over Stockport County as they were away on international duty with the Republic of Ireland Under 21s and New Zealand respectively.

Declan Frith continues to build minutes after coming off the bench on Thursday evening, but George Nevett, Sam Hughes, Rio Adebisi and Cian Hayes are sidelined through injury.

Stevenage are without the services of centre back Carl Piergianni who will be serving a ban after collecting five yellow cards. Fellow former Posh players Dan Butler, Lewis Freestone and Jordan Roberts could all be involved.

ONE TO WATCH

Harvey White

A product of the Tottenham Hotspur academy, Harvey White is a technical, left-footed midfielder who has become a key option in the middle of the park for Alex Revell's side. The 2024/25 campaign saw him make 41 League One appearances, contributing to a handful of goals in the process. White previously enjoyed spells at Portsmouth and Derby County, on loan from Spurs, but found a new permanent home at The Lamex Stadium in the summer of 2023.

MANAGER QUOTES

"Alex Revell deserves a lot of credit for the way that he has got Stevenage playing as a cohesive unit. They are very well organised, have a really good work ethic and don't concede many goals. I watched them myself on Saturday as we were without a fixture and they put in a solid display," Luke Williams said.

Matt Garbett in action against Stevenage

A first half penalty from Jamie Reid earned Stevenage all three points at the Weston Homes Stadium.

Peterborough United suffered their first defeat under Luke Williams as visitors Stevenage moved to the top of the Sky Bet League One table following a narrow 1-0 victory at the Weston Homes Stadium.

It was a tale of two spot-kicks, one that was given and one that was not. Tom O'Connor was penalised for a handball at the back post, but then the officials failed to spot a blatant handball in the box as Posh kept a move alive.

In terms of clear-cut chances, the game was devoid of them. Alex Bass didn't have much to do throughout the 90 minutes, while counterpart Filip Marschall was busier without being fully extended.

REID opened the scoring on 20 minutes, calmly sending goalkeeper Bass the wrong way from the spot. Harley Mills fired wide of the near post after a decent foray into the box on 50 minutes before the left-back fired a free-kick into the wall.

A minute later, Posh had those strong appeals for handball turned down by the officials with O'Connor cautioned for his protests. O'Connor headed a corner kick over the top before Marschall went down with a mystery injury that was soon rectified following a chat between the Stevenage management and players.

Substitute Matt Garbett was kept out smartly by the keeper on 76 minutes with Ben Woods also seeing a deflected effort gathered by the shot-stopper. There were seven minutes to try and find a leveller, but the visitors managed that time expertly to secure a 1-0 win.
