Welcome To The Girls Academy
Welcome to the Peterborough United Girls Academy.
The Girls Academy was created to build a player pathway for the next generation of female footballers into the first team. Despite only running for three years, we are proud to say that 10 of our academy players have made first team debuts within this time.
The Girls Academy is formed of three sections:
Under 8s (girls in school years 2 and 3) – Players are offered one training session per week with our coaches and strength and conditioning coaches. The sessions focus mainly on fundamental movement skill development, ball mastery and first-touch skills.
Emerging Talent Centre (girls in school years 4 to 9) – Players are offered a weekly training session which comprises of a pitch-based session, classroom sessions, psychology sessions and gym sessions. Players have regular access to our large staff team to help support them in whatever area of their development they need, including medical support for any injuries. The players are offered a number of fixtures throughout the season on evenings and school holidays, which compliments their grassroots club programme. Players will also be able to access our 3v3 series on a weekly basis where they can play regular 3v3 matches.
Under 16s & U18s (players school years 10 to 13) – These squads will train twice a week with classroom, gym and pitch-based sessions. The squads will play in the Junior Premier League with the U16s playing against a mixture of mixed teams and girls teams and the U18s playing in the girls Warriors league. Players have access to our sports psychologist, medical team and the strength and conditioning team.
