James has been with the Peterborough United Academy since 2013 and has progressed through each age group, consistently showing a lot of potential. Missed the whole of the 2020/2021 campaign with injury, but worked hard in his rehabilitation to put himself back in contention for selection at under 18s level before making the step-up to the under 21s group. 

Is now closing in on 100 senior appearances for the club and was part of the Posh side that won the Vertu Trophy at Wembley Stadium. Dornelly likes to get forward and support the attack from right-back and is one of the best crossers of the ball at the club when he gets into the final third.
