Evan Weir joined Posh in June 2026 with the former Walsall man penning a three-year deal with a one-year option. Weir can operate as a left-sided centre back, a left-back or a left wing-back and his versatility is one of his many qualities. Excellent on the ball, Weir is good in the air, can drive forward and support the attack and is determined in the tackle. 

Weir started his career in Ireland with UCD before joining Drogheda where he scored five goals in 39 appearances. That form earned him the move to Walsall, where he continued to impress during his two seasons with the Saddlers.
