Sam Hughes joined Posh on-loan in January 2025 from Stockport County and played a major part in the club retaining their League One status. Good in the air, Hughes is a determined defender, who is a good talker and organiser and a natural leader. The club made his move permanent in the summer of 2025, but injury meant he didn't feature during the 2025/26 campaign.
