Carl Johnston made the move to Posh from Fleetwood Town for an undisclosed fee during the January transfer window of 2025 and made his debut in a 1-0 defeat at Wrexham.

The right-back, who has over 100 appearances in senior football, has been in a Northern Ireland senior squad and represented his country at youth level. Johnston has demonstrated his versatility since arriving at the club, starting as a right-back, filling in admirably at left-back after injuries ravaged the squad before starting the 2026/27 pre-season as a holding midfielder.
