The Posh Women match was abandoned

Posh Women fixture at Boldmere St Michaels abandoned due to wintry weather.

The Peterborough United Women were losing 4-2 at promotion hopefuls Boldmere St Michaels on Sunday when the wintry weather forced an abandonment with around 20 minutes to play.

In extremely difficult conditions, Posh had opened the scoring through a fantastic effort from long-range by Piper O’Neill, but the hosts raced into a 3-1 lead before Jess Driscoll nodded the visitors back into the contest before the interval.

The home side had further chances to score and extended their advantage to 4-2 before the officials made the right call to abandon proceedings with snow covering the pitch, making seeing the lines impossible and with safety paramount, both sides headed for the dressing room.

Meanwhile, the reserves were beaten 7-1 in their fixture against Anstey Nomads on Sunday afternoon.
