Posh U21s v Swansea City U21s

The Posh Under 21s were beaten 3-1 by Swansea City at the idverde Training Ground.

The Peterborough United Under 21s were beaten by Swansea City in their latest Professional Development League fixture, but on another day, they would be pocketing three points after creating a host of opportunities against their opponents from Wales.

It was the visitors who opened the scoring in a blustery conditions, Glory NZINGO racing onto a clever pass before slotting through the legs of the returning Will Blackmore.

The lead didn't last long though, just a minute, as Pemi ADEROJU hooked an shot into the corner from close-range after Donay O'Brien-Brady saw his initial effort deflect into the air.

Harley Mills, operating in the centre midfield role, saw a close-range volley tipped over the bar by the goalkeeper after good work from Changunda on 23 minutes.

Charlie Veevers fired over for the Swans before Blackmore produced a good stop to divert a long-range strike from the same man around the post.

Ollie Rose couldn't adjust his body quick enough to convert from close-range following a set-piece on 33 minutes before the Swans were left aggrieved as Lloyd's classy finish was chalked off for offside.

Two minutes after the re-start, Posh had the ball in the net as Aderoju coolly beat the keeper, but controversially, the goal was ruled out for offside.

Josh Carey sent a shot from distance wide on 51 minutes before Watts kept out a fierce free-kick from Mills from around 20-yards. Blackmore kept out Wilson on 67 minutes before Posh were a whisker away from getting their noses in front as Aderoju showed blistering pace to get past the defender only to see his shot cannon back off the far post.

A minute later and the  Swans were ahead as Kyrell WILSON took advantage of a defensive lapse to cushion the ball into an empty net. Blackmore made another good stop with his legs to keep out Congreve before the visitors added a third through WILSON on the counter-attack.
