Luca Christoudias scored the pick of the goals as the Under 18s recorded an impressive home win over Fleetwood Town.
The Peterborough United Under 18s started 2026 with an eye-catching 5-1 victory over Fleetwood Town in Professional Development League action on Saturday at the Bespoke Builds Training Ground.
Jimmy Unwin's side were on top from the first whistle and went into the interval four goals to the good and added a fifth in the second half to claim three points.
CHRISTOUDIAS opened the scoring on six minutes with a superb free-kick into the top left-hand corner and Patryk SYKUT doubled the lead on 20 minutes after a good move.
Benji MCWILLIAMS-MARCANO extended their advantage on 39 minutes and on 42 minutes, Maxim MLITVALWA made it 4-0 as Posh continued to dominate.
On 68 minutes, Posh made it 5-0 as Kurtis SIMMONS showed excellent composure to finish clinically before the visitors found a consolation goal on 74 minutes.
Lead Under 18s Coach Jimmy Unwin said: "There were some really good individual performances, but more importantly, as a team, we were strong on the day and to be 4-0 up at the interval was obviously pleasing - it could have been more too.
"We tried to mirror the first team and gave the boys pictures and patterns of play and copy a lot of the stuff that the gaffer and Ryan have implemented, so it was pleasing all that came off.
"Luca scored an excellent free-kick, he practices quite a lot and he has come close a few times this season, so it is pleasing to see that one go into the top corner."
Posh are next in action at Coventry City on Saturday with some of those players also involved in the Northants Cup tie at Daventry in the afternoon (3pm).
Posh: Bucknor, Bushell, Joseph, Christoudias, Mendonca (sub Aikins 46min), Arber, McWilliams-Marcano, Fox (sub Simmons 61min), Shofowoke (sub Norville 61min), Sykut (sub Fitzpatrick 61min), Mlitvalwa. Unused sub: Sammour.
