Benji McWilliams-Marcano

The Posh Under 18s were beaten 4-1 by Huddersfield Town in Professional Development League action at the weekend.

The Peterborough United Under 18s suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Huddersfield Town on Saturday morning with three goals inside the opening 18 minutes giving Jimmy Unwin's side a mountain to climb.

Benji McWilliams-Marcano did reduce the deficit from close-range on the stroke of half-time, but two further goals after the break gave the Terriers a comfortable victory.

Unwin said: "It was a tough game. The better team won on the day. We didn't turn up for the first 18 minutes and found ourselves 3-0 down. It was a good learning exercise for the lads, we couldn't deal with the direct style of the opposition early on. We came to terms with it eventually and then created plenty of chances, but we were wasteful in front of goal.

"We then conceded against the run of play and then they scored again right at the end. Benji was our best player, he had a good game and is in a really good place at the minute."
