The Posh Under 18s suffered a late defeat to Charlton Athletic in their latest Professional Development League fixture.
The Peterborough United Under 18s were beaten 3-2 by Charlton Athletic at the weekend with Aaron Sudakaran and Maxim Mlityalwa on target for Hugh Alban-Jones' side.
The first 45 minutes was an even contest with both sides creating chances in front of goal, but a combination of wasteful finishing and poor decision-making in the final third led to a frustrating outcome for Posh.
After falling behind, Posh got themselves level through defender Aaron SUDAKARAN but the Addicks nudged themselves back in front and Posh worked extremely hard to level through MLITYALWA.
Unfortunately, the home side scored a late winner to claim all three points, leading to a frustrating afternoon for Alban-Jones.
"It was a tough one to take because we were competitive in the game, but we just didn't get that final shot or final ball right and we gifted a couple of the goals, which means it is a frustrating one for us.
"After falling behind, we worked so hard to get back to 1-1 and then we found ourselves behind, so had to work extremely hard to get back level again, so to lose it late on was a sucker punch.
"As with any game, there are some good bits and some bad bits, but when you lose the game, it is perhaps harder to see those good bits."
