Peterborough United Under 21’s suffered a 4-1 defeat at the hands of the Tigers in Professional Development League action.

The Peterborough United Under 21s suffered a 4-1 defeat to Hull City on Tuesday afternoon with midfielder Ryan De Havilland netting a second half consolation for Sam Gaughran's side.

The hosts started stronger, and forced Smith into an error six minutes in, but he won a sliding challenge against the onrushing forward and got up in time to make an expert double save.

Bastian Smith’s double save resulted in a counter attack for Posh, as De Havilland picked the ball up in his own half, played Conn-Clarke behind the backline, he cut back onto his right foot and saw his effort his the post.

Hull City took the lead in the 14th minute as Pharrell BROWN scored a clinical finish from 12 yards out. Just a few minutes later, Posh hit the woodwork again as De Havilland’s corner found Oliver Arber’s head, but his header came crashing off the bar.

Posh continued to put the pressure on, as Sykut found himself free on the edge of the box, but his goal-bound effort was parried away from danger. Sykut found himself in a similar position 15 minutes later, but his effort forced a sliding challenge by Mccarthy.

Around 10 minutes from the interval,  Hull found their second and third of the afternoon as Joshua OCAYA and Aidan SHEHU scored in quick succession.

Hull made it four just before half-time as Pharrell BROWN got himself on the scoresheet again. Posh pulled one back in the second half as Ryan De HAVILLAND'S strike from range hit the back of the net.
