Action between Posh and Blackpool

Posh suffered a 3-1 defeat at Bloomfield Road against Blackpool to remain four points clear of the drop zone.

Peterborough United were beaten 3-1 by a confident Blackpool side at Bloomfield Road and remain four points clear of the Sky Bet League One drop zone with two games in hand.

However, the display against the Tangerines will bring cause for concern with the home side the better side throughout the contest even when Fraser Horsfall was dismissed with 20 minutes to play.

The game was stopped for a long period in the second half following a medical emergency and our thoughts are with those affected.

In terms of the match, losing a goal inside the opening minute wasn't a great start, TAYLOR getting on the end of a well-worked corner to scuff the ball into the back of the net through a sea of bodies.

The home side tested Alex Bass on a couple of occasions with George Honeyman and Tom Bloxham both denied as Posh struggled to find any rhythm despite an excellent playing surface.

The leveller came on 23 minutes with the best bit of football of the game from Luke Williams' men, Jimmy-Jay Morgan flicking the ball into the path of Brandon KHELA, who took a touch before rifling an unstoppable effort past the keeper.

Bolu Shofowoke chose the wrong option after using his pace to good effect, declining a pass to Kyrell Lisbie with the chance snuffed out. Bass made a good stop to keep out substitute Clarkson three minutes into the second half before the hosts got themselves ahead as TAYLOR squeezed a shot through the legs of Bass.

Following a lengthy stoppage for a medical emergency in the stands, the game resumed with BLOXHAM adding a third goal after more poor defensive work.

Horsfall saw red for a challenge on Shofowoke with twenty minutes to play, but only a Morgan effort and a Collins strike that stretched the keeper gave the hosts any cause for concern.
