Patryk Sykut scored twice as the Posh Under 21s came away from Wales with all three points in their latest Professional Development League fixture.
The Peterborough United Under 21s made it two wins in a row in Professional Development League action as attacking midfielder Patryk Sykut scored two in as many minutes during the second half of the clash against Swansea City.
Sam Gaughran's side followed up the 2-0 win over Queens Park Rangers with a deserved success against the Swans, with the score-line closer than it needed to be given the amount of chances created and squandered in front of goal.
Posh opened the scoring through Ejiro ABBEY, who collected a fine pass from Sykut before producing a composed finish in front of goal. The Swans levelled from the penalty spot midway through the second half, but Posh regained the lead in the second half as SYKUT tapped home from close-range after a low cross from the right.
Posh made it 3-1 moments later as SYKUT was the first on the scene to tap home a rebound after Joe Andrews' free-kick was parried by the goalkeeper.
Lead Under 21s Coach Sam Gaughran said: "We definitely deserved to win the game, in fact the only criticism is that the score-line was a lot closer than it needed to be because we had 16 shots on goal and 14 of them were on target, we just couldn't kill the game off, particularly at 3-1.
"We had three or four clear cut opportunities, but we didn't take them and then Swansea scored and made it a bit of a nervy finish. It was a pleasing result, the players were outstanding, they worked their socks off, they pressed high and that gave us the platform to create opportunities.
"In the last 20 minutes, they put a lot of pressure on, but we defended the box well and then when Bastian Smith was called upon, he was there to keep the ball out of the back of the net with an excellent save with about five minutes to go."
