The Posh Women bolstered their defensive ranks ahead of the 3-2 victory over Huddersfield Town with the signing of Charlotte Steggles.
The former Loughborough Lightning, Derby County and Nottingham Forest defender helped Peterborough United record back to back wins at Tier 3 level as goals from Ellie May, Lauren Wilshaw and Evie Driscoll-King secured an excellent three points.
Steggles, who announced her retirement at the end of last season, has been an avid watcher of FAWNL football over the course of the last few months and after chats with manager Jake Poole, agreed to sign on the dotted line.
"I have been watching a lot of football since the end of last season, I know a lot of the girls at the club and myself and Jake have had lots of conversations. I came in and could see the unity in the squad straight away and that is so important, particularly at this level.
"Hopefully I can come in and use my experience and help the group, there is not too much pressure on myself and I can just try and hopefully assist on and off the pitch as much as I can."
Manager Jake Poole said: "Charlotte brings a wealth of experience having competed at the top end of Tier 3 for a number of years. She is a vocal player, she is a leader and will add depth to our defensive options."
