Posh v Oxford United

Three more points for Posh as Darren Ferguson's men beat Oxford United 3-0 at the Weston Homes Stadium.

Peterborough United continued their excellent form in PE2 with a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Oxford United in Sky Bet League One action with Hector Kyprianou, Ricky-Jade Jones and Ryan De Havilland on target for Darren Ferguson's men.

After a cagey start by both sides, it was Posh who created the first opportunity of the game as Jones saw an effort kept out by the legs of Beadle.

Poku curled a shot with his left-foot just wide of the target on 18 minutes and Joel Randall fired wide after not making a clean connection.

The deadlock was broken on 23 minutes as an Archie Collins shot was spilled by Beadle, Harrison Burrows was first to react and he squared for KYPRIANOU for a simple tap-in.

It was 2-0 to Posh ten minutes later as JONES raced onto a Mason-Clark pass, rounded the keeper and slotted into the empty net.

Randall had a glorious chance to make it 3-0 moments later, but was kept out by Beadle, who then did superbly well to thwart Jones after he raced clear of two defenders with blistering pace.

McGuane fired over for the visitors two minutes into the second half before Mason-Clark curled over at the other end after a quick Posh break.

Randall fired wide before Kioso was cautioned for a foul. Nicholas Bilokapic produced a fine stop to keep out Brannagan on 62 minutes as Oxford had a bit of possession.

Poku was superbly denied by Beadle by his near post on 72 minutes and then kept out Mason-Clark as Posh laid siege to the Oxford goal.

Ryan De Havilland and David Ajiboye were introduced from the bench and they combined for the third goal with DE HAVILLAND firing into the corner after good work from Ajiboye down the right.
