Posh Under 18s

Bolu Shofowoke scored twice as the Posh Under 18s progressed into the second round of the FA Youth Cup at the expense of Lincoln City.

Peterborough United Under 18s moved into the second round of the FA Youth Cup after a convincing 5-0 victory over Lincoln City at the Weston Homes Stadium with Bolu Shofowoke (2), Lucca Mendonca, Maxim Mlityalwa and Eddie Fox on target.

Posh never looked in any danger against the Imps with only a late effort forcing goalkeeper Ben Westcott into serious action as a defence, marshalled by Mendonca, kept the visitors at arms length.

Posh had already created one or two half chances before SHOFOWOKE opened the scoring, racing onto a clever pass, rounding the goalkeeper and slotting into the empty net.

Skipper MENDONCA made it 2-0, in the right place at the right time to fire home from close-range following some pinball in the Lincoln penalty area.

Shofowoke should have made it 3-0 but was kept out by a smart stop while Benji McWilliams-Marcano also went close before the interval.

Less than two minutes into the second half, Eddie FOX made it 3-0, lashing into the back of the net from the edge of the box and substitute MLITYALWA made it four as Posh dominated.

SHOFOWOKE made it 5-0 on 57 minutes racing clear, beating the goalkeeper to the ball before finding the back of the net from close-range despite the attentions of the defender.

Patryk Sykut was denied by the keeper after a well-worked set-piece on the hour mark before Mendonca headed over from a corner kick.
