Peterborough United Women have the chance to make it 16 unbeaten in the FA Women’s National League Midlands when they face Sheffield FC away from home on Sunday (2pm).

With leaders Boldmere St Michaels without a game this weekend, Jake Poole’s team has the chance to go top with at least a point against Sheffield, but there will be a 9am pitch inspection after heavy rain in the area.

We extended our unbeaten run to 15 games in the FAWNL Midlands with a goalless draw against Leafield Athletic last week, and will have the chance to go one better tomorrow, weather permitting.

Keir Perkins and Evie Driscoll-King were on target when we last met with Sunday’s opponents, but Poole’s side must be switched on if they want to complete the league double over a team who are yet to be beaten at home.

TEAM NEWS

Kira Rai took a knock in last week’s win over Northampton Town, but is now back on the grass and will be monitored ahead of Sunday. Kayleigh Hines’ minutes will continue be managed, while Courtney Clarke misses out on the weekend trip.

MANAGER QUOTES

"They have had some really good results, especially at home. They’re a team that’s really well organised and have players who have played at this level for a long time. I have huge respect for what they have done this season, and it will be a really competitive game," Jake Poole said.
