The Posh Women play their first ever game at Tier 3 level on Sunday as they travel to Rugby Borough in Northern Premier Division action (3pm).
Over the last few seasons, the Peterborough United players and management team have worked extremely hard to get to Tier 3 level and on Sunday, all the blood, sweat and tears will be worth it as they step out at the Nationwide Windows Arena.
Jake Poole's side travel to Rugby Borough, an established side at the level, for the opening game of the Northern Premier Division campaign (3pm) and understandably there is a lot of excitement within the group.
Posh go into the game on the back of a positive pre-season, which concluded in last Sunday's 4-1 victory against Tottenham Hotspur PGA at PIMS Park, which was secured thanks to a hat-trick from Poppie Brown and an early effort from Jess Driscoll.
TEAM NEWS
Posh are without the services of midfielder Courtney Clarke due to injury, while there are a number of others within the squad that are expected to undergo late fitness tests.

“We are all looking forward to the game. The girls have worked extremely hard during pre-season and we have spoken at length about the challenges that lie ahead, whether that be in-game or from week to week. This league is extremely competitive, we know that, and Rugby Borough will provide us with a good test, but it is the opening day, they perhaps won't have seen us play regularly and you can say the same the other way around, but both teams will have full confidence in their players," Jake Poole said.
