Striker Jess Rousseau scored a brace as the Posh Women earned a 2-2 draw with London Bees in their latest pre-season friendly.
Rousseau, who arrived in the summer from Leeds United, made it four goals in the last three games as Peterborough United Women earned a 2-2 draw with London Bees at the Hive.
It was a lively start to the contest with Lauren Wilshaw testing the goalkeeper with a curling effort inside the opening two minutes with the keeper also producing a fine stop to keep out a low strike from Rousseau at the near post.
On seven minutes, the hosts hit the top of the crossbar from a looping header before the deadlock was broken on 18 minutes as ROUSSEAU took advantage of a mistake from the keeper before firing into the corner from the edge of the box.
Goalkeeper Sophie Harris did well to tip a curling free-kick onto the crossbar as the chances continued to come at both ends with Kayleigh Hines firing wide.
Keir Perkins was a whisker away from putting Posh into a two-goal lead, but her clever dink over the keeper dropped wide of the far post.
On 42 minutes, the Bees clipped the outside of the post, but on the stroke of half-time, they were level as a shot was drilled into the back of the net from close-range.
Courtney Clarke fired over on 47 minutes and Renai Bennett headed over as Posh began the second half strongly. However, it was the hosts who got the next goal, another close-range finish after a cross from the right.
On the hour mark, Posh levelled and it was ROUSSEAU again, latching onto a clever Hines pass to fire past the keeper with her left-foot.
Clarke was denied a fine goal by a superb save at full-stretch with the Bees hitting the bar again from distance. Mears then struck the bar with a powerful drive from distance before Harris produced two saves to keep the score at 2-2.
