It was an early start for the Posh squad as they flew out to Spain for the pre-season training camp.
There was a lot of bleary eyed faces as the Peterborough United squad reported to the Bespoke Builds Training Ground for the 4am departure time and with plenty of travelling to do, any opportunity to get some shut eye on the Greys of Ely coach was welcomed.
The journey to Stansted was over in a flash and the players were checking in at one of the countries busiest airports, ready for the three hour flight to Malaga airport before the relative short journey to the base for the week, La Cala.
Aside from a rather bumpy landing and the additional process of leaving the Spanish airport, it was pretty smooth sailing from there as the players arrived at their accommodation for the next few days.
With two games during the stay, one behind closed doors on Tuesday and another in front of supporters on Friday night at the Banus Football Center against Saudi Pro League side Neom SC, manager Luke Williams has planned the sessions with the games in mind.
"There was a lot of travelling for the boys on day one, with an early start, a couple of bus journeys and obviously the flight, so we have kept it fairly light for them in terms of training time.
"It was an extended warm-up session with Lewis Keeble (Head of Sports Science) and a short sharp ball session because we have to take in consideration they will be tired and we don't want to push and break them.
"We have a game on Tuesday night, so we will train in the morning and go through some tactical stuff ahead of the game and then it is about minutes for the players in the game.
"It is good to get away and spend time with the players, those that have been here and those that have joined us since the end of last season. We are looking forward to the week," Williams said.
We will bring you coverage of the game on Tuesday night across our social channels and plan to upload the full 90 and highlights to Posh+.
