Peterborough United Women switch their attention over to the Adobe Women’s FA Cup second round proper bout with Wallsend BC on Sunday (3pm).
Peterborough United Women are back in Adobe Women’s FA Cup action this weekend, playing host to Wallsend BC, who make the trip from Tyneside in the second round proper.
Jake Poole’s team stretched their unbeaten run in the FA Women’s National League to nine games after holding Barnsley to a draw in South Yorkshire last time around, and will be looking to carry the momentum over to Sunday when they return to their PIMS Park home. The tie was initially due to take place last Sunday but was postponed due to the inclement weather.
TEAM NEWS
Striker Tara Kirk is now back in full training and will be added to the Posh squad. There are a number of players nursing injuries following last week's fixture and the Posh management may make changes to their XI with Poppie Brown, Meg Lawlor and Edyn Osker chomping at the bit. If selected, goalkeeper Niamh Corry will make her 100th appearance for the club.
MANAGER QUOTES
"We have done all of our preparation for the game and we are looking forward to the cup-tie. Both teams know the opponents in the third round, a team that are top of the tier above, so the motivation for both is there. We are at home, in front of our own supporters and we want to hopefully go out there and put a performance we can be proud of," manager Jake Poole said.
