Peterborough United Women will look to end the campaign undefeated when they host Stourbridge on Sunday (2pm).
Peterborough United Women will be awarded the FA Women’s National League Midlands trophy following the game this weekend, as Jake Poole’s team secured automatic promotion with two games to spare at the time.
Since then, we have made it 21 unbeaten with a 2-0 win away at Sheffield FC despite making eight changes from the team that secured promotion to the third tier, and have the chance to make it a full season without defeat on Sunday against the Glassgirls.
We beat our opponents 8-0 in the reverse fixture, with Kayleigh Hines’ goal making it in as the women’s Goal of the Season this week, so the midfielder will be hoping for more of the same in what will be her last game before retirement.
Following the 90 minutes, the trophy presentation will take place with celebrations in the clubhouse after that.
TEAM NEWS
Jake Poole has a full selection available to him, but will have one eye on the performers from last weekend who put in a good shift away at Sheffield.
MANAGER QUOTES
“We have had a couple of weeks where we have been able to enjoy the success of winning the league, both socially and in training as well. We have had some good fun while we have still trained properly, but obviously we have that target of going unbeaten, and that’s the first thing we want to make sure we achieve," Jake Poole said.
