Peterborough United Women switch their attentions back to the league programme, with Sheffield FC next on the cards on Sunday (2pm).
Peterborough United Women will be looking to strengthen their position at the top of the table when they welcome Sheffield FC to PIMS Park at the weekend.
Jake Poole’s side have won their opening three games in the FAWNL Midlands, beating Notts County, Lincoln United and Sutton Coldfield across this stretch.
Our next opponents, who made the step up from Tier 5 last season, can pull level on points with us with a win on Sunday – defeating Stourbridge 5-1 last time out in the league format.
TEAM NEWS
Hayley James is expected to be cleared to play 90 minutes, while Emily Meli and Meg Lawlor - who came on as substitutes in the League Cup defeat to Cambridge - will be included in the Matchday squad.
The host of players who were rested last weekend will all come back into the mix, with Jess Rousseau and Tara Kirk the only absentee from that group.
MANAGER QUOTES
"We welcome back a number of players into the squad who didn't feature last week in the cup against Cambridge. It was a good opportunity to rotate a little bit, give people who needed minutes, minutes, but we have made a good start in the league and we want to carry that momentum into the game with Sheffield. Sheffield will provide tough opposition, we know that, but it is about how we perform," Jake Poole said.
