The Posh Women eased to a 4-0 win over Kidderminster Harriers to remain top of the FAWNL Division One Midlands table.
The Peterborough United Women concluded their league programme ahead of the Christmas break with a 4-0 victory over Kidderminster Harriers at PIMS Park with four different goalscorers for Jake Poole's side.
Skipper Keir Perkins, Courtney Clarke, Jess Rousseau and substitute Kira Rai were all on target in difficult conditions against a side that looked to remain in a low block for large periods.
Posh dominated from start to finish with Neive Corry largely a spectator and only a string of fine saves from the Harriers goalkeeper kept the score at just four.
On seven minutes, Posh hit the crossbar following a well-struck effort from range from Clarke with Perkins sending a shot inches wide less than 60 seconds later via a deflection.
Niamh Reynolds limped out of the action just after the quarter hour mark with Poppie Brown her replacement. Anna Pitt sent an ambitious 30-yard strike wide on 29 minutes before Brown fired over from a similar distance.
The Harriers goalkeeper did well to save from Brown and Driscoll-King with Rousseau unable to force the rebound home. Driscoll-King headed over from close-range from a Pitt delivery on 40 minutes before Lauren Wilshaw hit the inside of the post with a low right-foot shot. Brown was repelled by the keeper in first half stoppage time.
Clarke fired wide from distance two minutes into the second half, but the deadlock was finally broken two minutes later as PERKINS guided the ball into the net after Brown was again denied by the keeper. On 56 minutes, Posh doubled the lead and it was CLARKE with it as she let fly from distance and saw the effort arc into the corner.
It was 3-0 on 64 minutes as ROUSSEAU danced her way into the box and squeezed her shot through the legs of the goalkeeper and into the back of the net.
Perkins and Osker were both denied before substitute Kira RAI made it 4-0, finding the corner after a good run across her defender. Pitt, Bennett and Rai all went close late on before the referee brought an end to proceedings.
Posh travel to Burnley in the third round of the Adobe Women's FA Cup next Sunday (1).
