Abbey Lawn

Posh Women see a significant increase in attendance during the 2022/23 campaign.

Peterborough United Women recorded the highest average attendance in the FA Women’s National League Division One Midlands, averaging 504 supporters per game for all our home games this season at the Weston Homes Stadium and Abbey Lawn.

Excluding the fixture that was played at the Weston Homes Stadium, with over 2,000 supporters coming down to watch, the average attendance at Bourne Town Football Club was 321 - more than any other club in the division.

This is a significant increase compared to last season, where the squad only averaged 50 supporters per game at the idverde Training Ground, but the move to the Abbey Lawn has certainly paid off.

Posh Women actually recorded their highest attendance of the season in the third round of the Vitality Women’s FA Cup when they welcomed FA Women’s Championship side Durham Women to the Abbey Lawn, with 675 supporting the player on that day.

Posh Women General Manager, Bobby Copping, said: "We made the conscious decision to move our home games to Bourne Town Football Club as part of our strategy. We have seen over an 800% increase in average matchday attendance since our move to the Abbey Lawn. I would like to thank all of our fantastic supporters who have backed the team, home and away this season. We look forward to seeing even more of you next season."
