Following the conclusion of the 2024/25 campaign, Peterborough United Women can confirm a number of departures from the playing squad with several others still in discussions about their future ahead of the new season.

Winger Katie Middleton, who joined from Loughborough Lightning prior to the 2023/24 campaign, will depart after scoring 13 goals in 52 appearances during her two seasons with the club.

Marthina Aguirre, who joined Posh in November 2024, is returning to Ecuador after scoring once in eight appearances while Hannah Dawbarn, Alex O’Neill and Macey Bannerman-Lloyd are also departing.

Academy graduates Ella-Mai Bale and Jessica Abrantes are both heading to the United States to continue their footballing journeys. Bale made 26 appearances for the first team with Abrantes featuring six times – we wish them both well as they prepare for the next step of their careers.

Manager Jake Poole said: “On behalf of the coaching staff, I would like to say a huge thank you to all of the players who are leaving us for the hard work and dedication that they displayed during their time with Posh.

“To Ella and Jess, all the best of luck with your studies and football in America. Marthina and Hannah move on to their next steps after university while Alex and Macey were part of our successful start to the season.

“Katie has been a huge part of the club for the past two seasons, helping to transform the team into one that is consistently challenging at the top end of the table.”

The club will begin to announce those who have committed their futures to the club ahead of the 2025/26 campaign very shortly.
