The Posh Women have bolstered their squad with the arrival of former Derby County winger Kira Rai.
Peterborough United Women are pleased to announce the arrival of winger Kira Rai, who made her debut as a substitute in last Sunday's 2-0 victory over Sheffield at PIMS Park.
Rai, who made over 100 appearances for Derby County after coming through the Rams Academy, will provide additional attacking options for manager Jake Poole, who is delighted to secure her signature.
"Kira brings a wealth of experience and has played regularly at Tier 3 level with Derby Count with over 100 appearances to her name.
"She is a quick, athletic winger who will give us a different option in that particular area of the pitch and I am pleased to have her on board."
Rai, who will wear the number 15 shirt, admits that she made the decision to join Posh moments after a call with Poole and believes the club's ambitions match her own.
"I had a chat with Jake on the phone and it didn't take long for me to make up my mind. It is very clear that the club are ambitious, they want to get promotion this year and that is something that I want to be a part of.
"Having met the girls on Sunday, it was clear that this is the right environment for me and that is extremely important when you are looking for a new club.
"It was good to get some minutes on Sunday against Sheffield, I am still building my match sharpness up so hopefully I can help the team as much as I can," Rai said.
