Weston Homes Stadium

Posh welcome fellow Sky Bet League One side Reading to the Weston Homes Stadium on Saturday night in the first round of the Emirates FA Cup (8pm).

The build-up to the game has been around the possibility of Peterborough United manager Robbie Savage coming up against his son Charlie, but it is two teams coming up against each other for the chance to get into round two of the world's most prestigious cup competition.

The tie has certainly captured the imagination of TNT Sports, who are showing the game live, hence the move to the 8pm slot, while there has been a bit of extra media requirements with national newspaper requests.

Posh go into the cup-tie on the back of a 2-0 defeat to Luton Town, while Reading were beaten 2-0 on Wednesday night in Sky Bet League One action by Oxford United.

TEAM NEWS

Posh will be without the services of captain Carl Johnston due to illness and winger Owura Edwards due to injury. Rio Adebisi and Ben Woods remain sidelined. A number of young players could be on the substitutes bench with nine players available to choose from.

Reading could change their XI up with Charlie Savage and former Posh defender Josh Knight pushing for starts. Former Posh striker Jack Marriott is back in contention for the Roayl's after recovering from injury.

ONE TO WATCH

Kyreece Lisbie

Coming through the ranks at Leyton Orient, Kyreece (pictured below) dropped down to Cray Valley Paper Mills alongside his twin brother and former Posh winger Kyrell, where he would make his senior men's football debut at 17 years old. Following a successful spell with the non-league outfit, Kyreece joined Watford's academy before moving on to join Brentford's B Team, where he would remain until February 2025, when Colchester United secured the services of the young winger for an undisclosed fee.

Lisbie would join Braintree Town on loan, scoring 2 goals in 7 appearances before being recalled to join up with United's first team ahead of the 2025/26 season, a year which proved to be his breakout year in the blue and white stripes. Kyreece became the second Lisbie to play for the Royals, with his dad Kevin Lisbie spending a brief loan spell with the club in 1999, where he would make three appearances.
