Weston Homes Stadium

After two games on the road in league and cup, Posh are back in competitive action at the Weston Homes Stadium on Saturday as Mansfield Town visit PE2.

Peterborough United welcome Mansfield Town to the Weston Homes Stadium in Sky Bet League One action on Saturday (3pm) as Luke Williams' side play their first game at home in the new campaign.

After a 1-0 victory at Bristol Rovers in the first round of the Carabao Cup, Posh were beaten 2-0 by last season's play-off semi-finalists Bradford City in Yorkshire last weekend.

Mansfield have already played three games in three different competitions, winning 2-1 in the league against Doncaster Rovers at the One Call Stadium and losing 3-0 against Championship side Sheffield United and 4-1 against Manchester City Under 21s in the EFL Trophy.

TEAM NEWS

Posh are without the services of defender David Okagbue after he was red-carded in the defeat to the Bantams. Declan Frith, Matt Garbett, Sam Hughes and Rio Adebisi are ruled out through injury. George Nevett is fit again after a wrist injury and Owura Edwards is back in contention after illness.

Mansfield made wholesale changes for their trophy tie with the young City side, but did name ex-Posh midfield man Louis Reed in midfield with Frazer Blake-Tracy a second half substitute.

MANAGER QUOTES

"I have so much admiration for Nigel Clough. He is a superb manager. So many players will join Mansfield just because they want to work under him and it is no surprise to me why they have been able to improve year on year. They have played three games, but you can only really take notice of their league game because that is their bread and butter, they have made changes in other games. For us, we are excited to be back at home in front of our own supporters. A lot of fans don't get to travel away from home, so we are looking forward to reconnect with them on Saturday," Luke Williams said.
