Posh host Blackpool at the Weston Homes Stadium on Saturday afternoon in Sky Bet League One action (3pm).
Peterborough United are back in action at the Weston Homes Stadium on Saturday afternoon as Darren Ferguson's men take on Blackpool in Sky Bet League One action (3pm).
Posh leapfrogged the Seasiders in the table last weekend after a 1-0 victory over Burton Albion coupled with a late equaliser by Wycombe Wanderers at Bloomfield Road.
Posh have won four of the last six games in all competitions and a win against Blackpool could see Ferguson's side move out of the bottom four ahead of the Emirates FA Cup tie with Cardiff City next weekend.
TEAM NEWS
Posh are without the services of defenders Sam Hughes, Rio Adebisi and Jacob Mendy, with the on-loan Wrexham man set to undergo a scan to reveal the extent of the damage to his groin. Cian Hayes is also unavailable due to injury, while centre back Tom Lees is suspended.
Michael Ihekwe suffered an injury last time out and is not expected to feature despite better news on his diagnosis after being stretchered off. Albie Morgan, Hayden Coulson, Dale Taylor and Niall Ennis are out.
ONE TO WATCH
Ashley Fletcher
Experienced forward Ashley Fletcher (pictured below) joined the Seasiders as the Club's second summer signing in 2024 from Watford. The former Manchester United academy graduate, has played in the Premier League and Europa League during his career having broke through with a brilliant loan move at Barnsley during the 2015/16 season, helping the Tykes earn promotion to the Championship via the play-offs.
A former England youth international, Fletcher has vast experience in the EFL with the likes of Watford, Middlesbrough, Sheffield Wednesday and Wigan Athletic. Fletcher had a memorable first season in Tangerine, picking up the Supporters' Player of the Season award after finishing the season with 19 goal contributions, the most within the Pool squad. The leading marksman had a difficult start to life on the Fylde Coast despite starting the season with a goal in Pool's opening day defeat to Crawley Town.
MANAGER QUOTES
"Blackpool have a good squad of players, but they, like ourselves, have struggled in terms of their results. They have mainly played a back four this season, but the change of manager could see them go to a three at the back because that is how Ian has operated when he has been in charge at Bolton. However, it is all about us, the focus is on how we can affect the game and we need to improve our attacking intent particularly at home," Ferguson said.
