Posh welcome Barnsley to the Weston Homes Stadium on Tuesday night in the third round of the Carabao Cup (7.30pm).
Peterborough United have the opportunity to reach round four of the Carabao Cup for the first time since the 2009/10 campaign when they welcome fellow Sky Bet League One side Barnsley to PE2 on Tuesday evening.
Luke Williams' side reached this stage of the competition following a 1-0 away win at Sky Bet League Two outfit Bristol Rovers and a comprehensive 5-1 victory at Vicarage Road against Sky Bet Championship side Watford.
The Tykes, who sit in 18th place in the league table following two wins, one draw and three defeats this season, overcame Wigan Athletic on penalties in the first round of this competition before beating Crewe Alexandra 3-2 at Oakwell in round two.

Posh are without the services of Rio Adebisi, Sam Hughes, Tom O'Connor, Declan Frith, Vernon Masara and Matt Garbett due to injury. A number of other players are carrying knocks following Saturday's 1-1 draw with Milton Keynes Dons.
Luca Connell is expected to come into the starting line-up for Barnsley after a 45 minute appearance off the bench in the defeat to Plymouth Argyle at the weekend. Former Northampton Town midfielder Cameron McGeehan is expected to skipper the side.

Reyes Cleary
Reyes Cleary (pictured below) has been a pivotal part of Barnsley FC since he joined in 2025. The forward introduced himself to the nation in a Reds shirt when he scored a goal from his own half against Bradford City in October 2025. His impressive performances were highly noted again in the national media when Barnsley played Liverpool at Anfield, a game in which Cleary dominated the Premier League defence. A huge threat from wide areas, Cleary will once again be a real threat in League One this term.

Tickets are available to purchase at www.theposhtickets.com and via the Weston Homes Stadium Ticket Office. The GH Display Stand is closed for this fixture, but the Weston Homes London Road End is open. Barnsley fans will be accommodated in the away section of the Kings Power Solutions Stand.
COMPETITION RULES
The game will go straight to penalties if the tie is level after 90 minutes.
