The Posh Under 21s open their new season with a home game with Queens Park Rangers at the Bespoke Builds Training Ground on Tuesday afternoon (1pm).
The Peterborough United Under 21s get their Professional Development League campaign underway on Tuesday afternoon as they welcome Queens Park Rangers to the city.
Lead Under 21s Coach Sam Gaughran is likely to have a mixed squad available to him with a number of first team players potentially getting minutes ahead of Saturday's Sky Bet League One clash with Mansfield Town.
"The first game of the season is always a challenge in terms of preparation because there is limited access to footage from the pre-season games, but our focus is very much on ourselves and how we can impact the game.
"Our aim this season is to be competitive and build on the positives from last season. We did well throughout the campaign last year and although we are setting no targets, it is important to try and help produce players for the first team, that is always the objective of the Professional Development Phase of the Academy," Gaughran said.
