The Posh Under 16s produced an eye-catching result on their tour of the Netherlands as they overcame Ajax 4-3 thanks to a last-minute winner.
The Peterborough United Under 16s are currently away in the Netherlands during the half-term holiday and picked up a notable success in their fixture with giants Ajax, winning 4-3 thanks to a last-gasp winner.
Academy Director Dan Robinson was understandably proud of the success. "It is incredibly impressive for our Academy to not only work hard to give our boys amazing opportunities to travel overseas together, but also play top opposition like Ajax (one of the highest regarded Football Academies in the world) and to come away with a last minute winner is something the players and staff will never forget!
"Results like these are putting our Academy in the spot-light and it demonstrates that we can compete with developing players alongside the very best! A massive thank you to Robbie O’Keefe who has helped organise the matches.
"Ryan Jones and Kevin Flynn have done amazing work with the group of players on and off the pitch for a long time now and to see the performance against Ajax is as impressive about their work as it is about the players! We have great staff and great staff develop great players! They are supported by from our highly experienced Head of Coaching Tony Cook."
The Under 16s are back in action today (Wednesday) against AZ Alkmaar as their tour draws to a close.
