Posh U21s welcome Swansea City U21s to idverde Training Ground on Tuesday afternoon.

Peterborough United U21s return to Professional Development League action on Tuesday afternoon (2pm) as they welcome Swansea City U21s to the idverde Training Ground, with manager Matthew Etherington eager to see improvement from their last performance.

The under 21s suffered a heavy 5-1 defeat to Millwall FC last Wednesday, but will be keen to bounce back on Tuesday afternoon and secure their first win of the campaign after a positive week of training with the players.

Speaking ahead of the game, Etherington said: “The difference in performances from the Aston Villa game to the Millwall game was quite vast, which was the most frustrating thing, and we mentioned that to the players during and after the game. We can’t have two performances that are so far apart in terms of what we want to achieve.”

“The players have been positive in training, and now we will look to build on performances because if we can start doing that on a consistent basis, then results will start to follow. The last week has really been the first time this season to have the whole under 21s group together and all the players that will be involved tomorrow trained with us, which allowed us to get information across before the game on how we want to play against Swansea, so that was really important.”

Etherington confirmed that the under 21s players that have been involved in the first-team squad in the last couple of games are set to return for Tuesday's clash, while Andrew Oluwabori and János Bodnár, who are both on loan at Kettering Town, will also be available.

Updates of the game will be on the official Twitter account (@theposh) with a match report and reaction to follow after the game.
