Posh U21s on the road as they face The Owls at Hillsborough on Monday.

Peterborough United U21s travel to Hillsborough on Monday afternoon (12pm) as they face Sheffield Wednesday U21s in the Professional Development League.

The under 21s picked up a point in their last fixture in the league against Coventry City U21s, conceding in the final 10 minutes to draw 3-3 at the idverde Training Ground. The Owls suffered a narrow defeat to Birmingham City U21s and sit ninth in the table, just one point behind Posh.

Forward Joe Taylor, who scored in the draw against The Sky Blues last Tuesday, and goalkeeper Will Blackmore will be involved in the trip to Hillsborough. Harry Titchmarsh, János Bodnár and Matthew Laycock are expected not to be part of the squad as they will be involved in the under 18 group to face Northampton Town at the Weston Homes Stadium on Tuesday evening (7pm) in the FA Youth Cup.

U21s boss Matthew Etherington said ahead of the game:  “Every game is tough in this division and we expect that against Sheffield Wednesday. I’m just looking for a similar performance that we saw against Coventry City but for longer periods. We created a number of chances throughout that game and looked great going forward, but we have to make sure we are a little bit more secure defensively - that will be the main objective from the game today."

The game gets underway at 12pm and updates will be available club’s official Twitter account. Supporters will be able to watch the game via a live stream on Sheffield Wednesday’s YouTube account.
