Posh U18s are back in Under-18 Professional Development League action.

Peterborough United U18s return to Alexandra Park on Saturday (11am) to face Crewe Alexandra U18s in the Under-18 Professional Development League.

The two sides met last weekend in the Under-18 Professional Development League Cup as Jamal Campbell-Ryce’s men drew 2-2 with The Railymen, but head into Saturday’s game on a four-game unbeaten run in all competitions.

The under 18s are currently seventh in the table, winning their last two games in the league, while Crewe Alexandra sit fourth after beating Coventry City 2-1 in their previous fixture.

A similar squad that faced The Railwaymen last Saturday is expected to travel to Alexandra Park this weekend, with midfielder Josh Marcon and defender James Dornelly set to return.

Campbell-Ryce said: “We are in a really good place at the minute. This week, I had to pull them to one side and commend them on how well they have trained. The players are certainly enjoying their football at the minute and, hopefully, there’s plenty of confidence throughout the squad, which we can take into tomorrow and get a result.”

“We are about development first and where the players are at the minute, they are trying to recreate what we are doing in training sessions and replicate it during games. If the results come, perfect, but if not, I just want to see the right intentions.”
