Posh U18s made it three wins on the bounce in the league after a 3-0 victory over The Owls.

Peterborough United U18s continued their excellent run of form as they recorded their fifth win on the bounce in all competitions, including three successive victories in the league, after a 3-0 success over Sheffield Wednesday U18s on Saturday morning in the Under-18 Professional Development League.

Posh opened the scoring on four minutes, and it was another goal for midfielder Harry Titchmarsh, as Andre Changunda’s cross was cleared but only to Titchmarsh, who advanced into the box before slotting the ball into the bottom corner.

The under 18s doubled their advantage on 38 minutes as Chagunda’s cross was headed away, but the ball fell to James Dornelly inside the box, and he took one touch before firing home on the half-volley.

Jamal Campbell-Ryce’s men added a third on 58 minutes as Harley Mills’ corner was flicked on at the near-post by Dennis Kelmendi and Torin Ntege was there to head home at the back-post. The victory sees Posh climb upto third in the table, level on points with second-place Sheffield United.

Speaking on the game, Campbell-Ryce said: “It’s another really good performance. We probably weren’t as good as we weren’t last week against Burnley, but we still controlled the game and dominated the ball. I’m happy and proud of the players after a long week of travelling.

“All of them were different types of games. Burnely was an overnight stay, giving them that experience, and was quite a physical game. Then, playing O.N. Chenecks on Thursday was a game we were expected to dominate, which we did, then our home game on Saturday, I was expecting the players to be a bit tired, but they came through fine. So, I just want to keep saying how proud I am of the team.

“Harry [Titchmarsh] has a bag of abilities and is one of those quick learners, we spoke to him about adding goals to his game and he has done exactly that. But, he isn’t the only player to have stepped up their performances throughout, everyone has done that and everyone is contributing to these results."

Posh XI: West, Dornelly, Mills, Titchmarsh, Arthur, Toynton, Challinor, Rose, Marshall, Kelmendi, Changunda.
